Lack of oxygen!

Last week..I was on MC for 4 days straight! Suffered infection and flu. Just now, I almost wanted to take MC again as my flu has not cured and my blocked nose is getting worse. For days I have difficulty breathing as both my nostrils are blocked! Had difficulty sleeping so felt tired. Taking care of Insyirah has caused my flu not to be better too as I couldn't take medication as it will cause drowsiness.

With Insyirah also ill, down with flu, fever n cough, she only wants to cling on to me. So I cannot afford to sleep and rest.

Yesterday, she was crying all night due to her blocked nose. I so pitied her. Wanted to take MC for her too but since I was away for 4 days last week, I couldnt do it. (last year, it was an issue at work).

I hope my blocked nose will clear soon as the lack of oxygen is making me dizzy often. It is so uncomfortable. Tried rubbing vicks, drinking hot water, eating my medicine..but all didnt work. I think the mucus got stuck in my nostrils. Tried blowing it out also impossible.

Please anyone...got any tips for me?

Doing what you love….

Today, while walking back to the staff room, I was considering on quitting the workforce. I was thinking on submitting my resignation letter anytime soon. I was feeling so unmotivated and demoralized after my CME class.

If last year I felt that they were punishing me for being pregnant and having a baby, this year, I am feeling that they are punishing my department for having an extra pair of hands in the department. This year…I have 4 ML classes only. BUT….I have 3 CME classes and 1 IDPW class. The reason is, since our adjunct cannot teach other subjects, we, the other ML teachers have to teach other subjects as we are bilingual.

For the second time I am forced into doing something I do not want. For the second time I am forced into something I do not love.

It is important to do what you want. It is important to do what you love. This is because, if you do what you love, you put your heart into it. You look forward for each day. You persevere even though you are faced with challenges. You fight on and your fire remains burning. You are happy and satisfied at what you are doing.

However, if you do not like or love what you do, you get demoralized easily when small challenges come. You whine everyday even though the task is not tough. You drag yourself to do the task. You dread doing it. You just place a barrier around yourself and close yourself up. Importantly, you are not happy.

I know others went through worse but to me…happiness is very important. It is because in my line, if you are not happy doing something, it shows and the students know and respond appropriately. I pity the students. I am so sorry but I can’t give my best as I am not happy doing it.

And suddenly, my disheartened feeling was gone as images of my ML students flashed through my mind especially my sec 4s. When I remembered how they tried to finish my assignments on time, the questions they asked when they were in doubt, the “OOOOOHH”s and “AAAAHHH”s I got when they understood my lesson and the smiles I received when they are satisfied with my lesson, my mood suddenly changed.

I bet they are the ones who kept me going despite these trying times. They are the ones who give me the strength to go on. They are the ones causing me to say, “Maybe I should stay a little longer…”

So it is important to do what you love. You are more passionate, dedicated and also HAPPY.

Have a Great 2009!

Happy New Year everyone! I know this is kinda late but since the start of school, I am very very busy. Juggling work and family is hard. Yah..I only got 1 child but she's a demanding one ok. Plus, 3 other children comes in the package.

At work, I am busy with teaching and admin stuff. Now having a form class (sec 1 some more), I need to do a lot of admin stuff. I got 4 ML classes 3CME classes and 1 IDPW. Something I dun like!

Once at home, my attention is all towards my fast-growing daughter. Once I reached home, I must be within her sight if not she will scream. I am still breastfeeding her (and she wants it only direct n not in a bottle) hence taking a break by putting her at my mum's is out of the question. AND I CANT BRING BACK MY MARKING!!!

And when I am free (only when Insyirah is sleeping), I am too tired to do anything else...so I just go to sleep.

My house is in a mess and I so got no time to do house chores. Thank God hubby is around to help me. Thanks hubby. And hey...being the perfectionist, I managed to lower down my expectations by not expecting hubby to do chores according to my pace. It's difficult ok...those who know me will understand.

And yes hubby. Even though I may need to nag at you sometimes regarding the household chores, even though sometimes you feel that I do not appreciate your help...I DO ok. I appreciate every single help and am thankful that you try to accomodate to me as well. So...THANK YOU!! MUACKS!! (give you a real one later)

And to all of my dear frens in multiply, have a great 2009! May you achieve what you planned for and be happy with your loved ones. Appreciate them, love them and treasure them
