It's pouring

It's raining super heavily now. I am still in school. Waiting for 3.30 when all the embarrassment happens. Well, my students urged me, Mis n another teacher to join them for the Talentime Contest for Teachers' Day celebration. Can be quite an embarrassing moment. Hopefully things go well. Hehehe

The past 2 weeks have been super busy. Preparing my students for the Cluster West Zone 6 contest. Our students participated in Malay Scrabble and Poetry Singing contests. Somehow we knew that we wouldn't win for Scrabble (since we ourselves dun even know how to play it and the dept doesnt even have it!!). However, we knew we have a chance in winning the Poetry Singing contest. Top 3. So we really made them practice real hard.

Last Saturday was the competition. Both me and Mis were super nervous, as if we were the ones performing. When it was time to announce the winners, I somehow got so scared and shivery...3rd...not us....2nd...not us.....1st....ZHENGHUA SECONDARY SCHOOL!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I was ecstatic!! So was Mis!! yAHOOOOOOOOO!!

And to top it all up, two of the judges, Abg Zaharain and Abg Shahrin invited us to perform on Sunday at ARTS HOUSE!!! It's a super rare opportunity to get to perform together with some of the famous people. It's even more rare to get to perform there...ARTS HOUSE...OLD PARLIAMENT BUILDING...WHERE WE COULD STILL SEE LEE KUAN YEW'S NAME THERE!!! So very proud of our kids!!

ASHIDY...thank you for making the music. At such age (15), you can compose/programme your own songs and music...that's WOW. Aliff, thanks for being a part of the group. The right-hand man of Ashidy. You two really synchronised well. Nasri, thank you for the rapping part. You have potential. Wah! Even got asked by an Ahli Fiqir member to join them. Hehehe. And the fans you got were so much more than Ash & Aliff!! To Ayu, thank you very very very very much. Despite not knowing how to read a Malay poem, you learnt so much and managed to do it so well. Your voice, like a nightingale, captivated the audience. Who knows you might be the next Siti Nurhaliza since you somehow looked like her.

To Martin, thank you soooooo much for replacing Aliff on Sunday. Even though you have such a short time rehearsing and remembering the lyrics, you did a super great job. And the best thing is....U GET TO TAKE PICTURE WITH SYED AZMIR!!! How cool is that!!

MIS, thanks a lot for being my partner in crime..hehehe. We sooooooo complement each other. Like Bananas in Pyjamas, you are my B2. Like Spongebob Squarepants, you are my Patrick (hahahahaha). Ok ok....in short....you are my better half!! (Well hubby...you are still my better half in a different category). Thanks fren!!

Oh ya...we were even informed by Abg Shahrin that they want us to be in their album!! (US meaning Ash, Aliff, Ayu n Nas that is).

Brother-in-law persuades man to hand over samurai sword, realse children
HE was locked in his brother-in-law's flat. There were bloodstains on the floor, two frightened kids, including a toddler, a worried woman, and a very distressed man.
By Ng Tze Yong
20 August 2006
HE was locked in his brother-in-law's flat. There were bloodstains on the floor, two frightened kids, including a toddler, a worried woman, and a very distressed man.
Still, Mr Ng Tor Ching, 35, wasn't perturbed.
'I wasn't afraid because I know him very well,' he told The New Paper.
He was referring to his brother-in-law, Mr Teo Thiam Cai, 39.
The unemployed man had locked his wife, teenage son and toddler in their 14th floor Jelapang Road flat in Block 509, off Bukit Panjang Road, on Thursday night after a heated quarrel.
WAVED SWORD
Mr Teo, who is understood to be suffering from a mental illness, had shouted Hokkien obscenities, smashed the television screen and even waved a one-metre sword around at one point.
It needed the intervention of Mr Ng, who turned negotiator, to diffuse the tense situation.
Bit by bit, over seven excruciating hours, he comforted and persuaded Mr Teo as they sat on the floor of the four-room flat.
Over cigarettes and cups of tap water, the hardware store worker brought Mr Teo to tears several times, after he bundled his two nephews off into the relative safety of their bedroom with their PlayStation.
He succeeded. Just before 4am yesterday, Mr Teo finally unlocked the door and surrendered himself to the police, ending a drama that could have finished very differently.
The episode began around 7.30pm, when Mr Ng received a call from the elder of his nephews.
The boy told him in Mandarin: 'Uncle, come quickly. Daddy is in trouble.'
Mr Ng rushed over from his workplace immediately. When he arrived, he found the flat in a mess.
Mr Teo was sitting quietly in a corner of the living room, his back against the wall.
His 38-year-old wife and children were comforting him.
'He looked very sad and frustrated,' Mr Ng said.
There were bloodstains on the floor from a deep cut on Mr Teo's leg. No one else was hurt.
Still, as a safety precaution, Mr Ng told the elder nephew to take his younger brother into the bedroom to play video games.
Then, he sat down with Mr Teo and asked what his troubles were.
At about 8.45pm, a neighbour called the police.
When Mr Teo realised that, he panicked and padlocked the gate, just before the police arrived.
Thus began the standoff.
Tense rehearsal unfolds two floors below
AS the crowd followed the nail-biting drama on the 14th floor, another drama unfolded just after midnight.
Police officers continued to coax Mr Teo through the metal gates upstairs, while a team of policemen and SCDF members on the 12th floor started rehearsing for a possible forced entry into the flat.
The rehearsal began with a female police officer in mock conversation at the gate of the unit directly two storeys below Mr Teo's.
The occupants of that unit were out at the time.
Suddenly, she stepped back and made a swift cutting motion with her right arm.
Immediately, three policemen stationed in the the corridor on her left rushed towards the door.
When they reached it, the officer in front, holding a plexiglass shield, squatted down. The two officers behind him pretended to point pistols into the flat.
Simultaneously, a team of 10 SCDF members clad in dark blue fatigues and orange helmets rushed in from the other direction.
The lead man, who carried a power saw, pretended to break open the gate.
Meanwhile, SCDF members ran a cable extension up to the 14th storey, presumably for the power saw. Earlier, they had ran a water hose up there too.
Around 1am, after performing the rehearsal at least twice, the team took up position on the 14th storey.
For an hour and a half, the three policemen and the team of 21 SCDF members stood at the ready, out of sight of the occupants in the flat.
But nothing happened. At 2.35am, the SCDF team was given orders to stand down. The group of police officers at the gates continued to engage Mr Teo.
At 3.54am, just as suddenly as it had begun, the standoff ended.

Just plain rude

Today was the last day for Cikgu Rani's Bengkel Penulisan. What a relief!! I n Mis do not have to face him anymore coz we felt so damn embarassed by our 4N. Yesterday, many didn't come. Some claimed to have coursework but then we found out from the teachers in charge, there wasnt any. Or..some finished early but couldnt be bothered to go. Felt so pissed off.

However, what pissed me off the most was when 2 damn students got so damn rude that I just felt like blurting out all the blasphemies available in the "Book of Vulgarities". Many of the boys didn't turn up. Got to know that these 2 students were in the hall, going for the NDP rehearsal instead. So I asked my 2 other students to go and call them in. Well, stupid of me to trust them...they didn't. On the other hand, they joined these gundus instead. I asked them to go in while I talked to these 2 idiots. They knew about the writing workshop but they refused to go. I urged them again to go and they packed up. I waited for them by the side of the hall, thinking that if they dun respect me as a teacher also at least treat me like human. They took their darn sweet time packing up. Testing my patience.

Even after packing up, they took their sweet time to walk. One of them walked towards the AVA rm where the workshop was conducted. However, another one just walked away, exiting at back of the hall while I still stood there by the side of the hall. I was pissed. He didnt even bother to approach me to tell me where he is going. He just walked off. Luckily Mdm Zarina came to talk to me and that calmed me down. Count himself lucky!!

Then his fren who went to the AVA rm still didnt go in. I talked to him and he showed his stinking attitude! I got angry but I still control my anger. I asked him why he didnt come in earlier. N DIS DARN IDIOT said that...he was waiting for me to come to him. WTF!!! Whu do u think I am??!! That just ticked me off so I scolded him. However, because I want to control myself, I just went inside the room. Guess wat, his other fren went back home claiming that he wanted to put his things at home. Didnt even bother to inform me. Guess wat! He didnt even come back. A*****E!

During break, that bugger went back home instead. Wats so damn rude is that, he just left the notes given by the vendor on the chair and they got swept away on the floor. The vendor saw that n Mis picked them up. So rude and disrespectful.
Today, the boys came in late. They got a scolding from the vendor which I know they dun give a damn at all. They are just heartless imbeciles who not only dun care abt others...but also demselves. Mis n I got so embarrassed. We were very broken hearted too but tried to put up a strong front.

However, Mis broke into tears after the whole thing ended while giving the closing speech. I already had tears in my eyes since yesterday but I chose to remain strong. I've already promised myself never to cry for them again. To waste my tears is really not worth it. THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT!!!

Yes...they are worthless, crawling creatures...who do nothing but be parasites all their lives!!
Phew...wat a relief! After letting out my anger n frustration.
Ya Allah, please grant my wish. I wish for all my students to have a bright future. I wish that for those who are at the wrong path be stricken with something that can bring them back to the right path. And I wish that they are given the opportunity to change before its too late. Finally, I wish you give me strength to overcome these obstacles coz I know its just a test of my faith to You, Ya Allah.
